Websites For Less Tip of the Day – Compress Your Images

Posted in Fundamentals Leave a comment

I mentioned several times already that when a website loads slowly, people tend to avoid it at all costs. Well, it’s not uncommon knowledge that high-quality images can take quite a bit of time to load, so it’s important to always compress them before uploading them to your page. A lot of the image editing programs out there have tools that you can use to compress high-quality photos. You can also find other programs out there that are specifically built for these types of jobs.

Also, if you have an image that is too large, simply “shortening” it with the click-and-drag corners on your interface won’t make it any easier to load – you have to actually take it into a program and adjust the size directly.

Websites For Less Tip of the Day – Creating Content That Can Last

Another post about content here. A great way to add some value to your website and/or blog is to create content that can last for a long time. What I mean by this is your website should remain useful several years down the road rather than just being useful today. A lot of the great content on the Internet was made a long time ago, but people continue to visit it and find it to be beneficial.

While staying true to your mission, how can you create timeless content that others will be using five years from now?
