Well, it’s not uncommon knowledge that high-quality images can take quite a bit of time to load, so it’s important to always compress them before uploading them to your page. A lot of the image editing programs out there have tools that you can use to compress high-quality photos. You can also find other programs out there that are specifically built for these types of jobs.

Also, if you have an image that is too large, simply “shortening” it with the click-and-drag corners on your interface won’t make it any easier to load – you have to actually take it into a program and adjust the size directly.
